INDICATIONS: GARAMICINA ® G.U. 120 mg/1.5 ml GARAMICINA ® G.U. 240 mg / 3 ml is indicated for the treatment of genitourinary infections caused by susceptible strains of the following microorganisms: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus sp (indole-positive and indole-negative), Escherichia coli, Klebsiella-Enterobacter-Serratia sp, Citrobacter sp, Providencia sp, Staphylococcus sp (coagulase negative and coagulase positive), including strains resistant to penicillin and methicillin, and Neisseria gonorrhoeae.
GARAMICINA ® G.U. 240 mg / 3 ml injection in a single daily dose is effective in the treatment of genitourinary infections caused by susceptible strains, including gonorrhea.
CONTRAINDICATIONS: Known hypersensitivity or serious toxic reactions to gentamicin and other aminoglycosides contraindicate their use.
The presence of renal failure contraindicated the use of GARAMICINA ® GU 160 mg / 2 ml and GARAMICINA G.U. 240 mg / 3 mL single dose daily for genitourinary tract infections.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION: Patients with urinary tract infections, particularly if chronic or recurrent and without evidence of renal impairment may be treated with a single daily dose of 160 mg or 240 mg of gentamicin administered intramuscularly or intravenously for 7 to 10 days.
Intramuscular injection should be deep in the upper outer quadrant of the buttock. In adults weighing less than 50 kg, single daily dose should be calculated on the rate of 3 mg / kg body weight.
Managing GARAMICINA ® G.U. 160 mg / 2 ml and GARAMICINA ® G.U. 240 mg / 3 ml once daily is indicated for infections that do not jeopardize the patient's life and only in adults with normal renal function.
GARAMICINA ® G.U. 160 mg / 2 ml and GARAMICINA ® G.U.240 mg / 3 ml injection should not be premixed with other drugs should be administered intramuscularly or intravenously according to the recommended dosage schedule.
